NavStar Technologies Signs Agreement With Trinity Noble, LLC to Add Cell Phone Detection Feature to EOBR Hardware and Service Offering

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 22, 2011) - NavStar Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: NVSR), a company focused on producing and commercializing products and services for tracking/monitoring and reporting on the location and condition of high value cargo and other assets, is pleased to announce it has signed an agreement with Trinity Noble to add cell phone usage detection while driving to its portfolio of Electronic On Board Recorder (EOBR) hardware and services.

"The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is proposing new regulations that would completely ban all hand-held cell phone use by truck and bus drivers while operating commercial vehicles," said N. Douglas Pritt, Chairman & CEO, NavStar Technologies, Inc. "The proposed rule is coming from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the ability to provide this feature in 2012 will be give us a significant competitive advantage."

"Every time a commercial truck or bus driver takes his or her eyes off the road to use a cell phone, even for a few seconds, the driver places everyone around them at risk," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. "This proposed rule will go a long way toward keeping a driver's full attention focused on the road."

FMCSA added that its research shows that reaching for a hand-held cell phone while driving makes a commercial truck three times more likely to be involved in a crash, and dialing a hand-held cell phone while driving increases risk of a crash by six times.

Field trials are planned for 2nd Quarter 2012.
