Navy Seeks Sources to Manage, Maintain, and Operate Emergency Ship Salvage Material Systems

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - May 03, 2017) - The Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) released on May 3 a sources sought notice to help it identify sources who possess the requisite capabilities to successfully manage, maintain, and operate an Emergency Ship Salvage Material (ESSM) System; provide Operational Response Teams (ORT); and support the Navy's oil and hazardous substances (OHS) spill response program.

Interested contractors must email Darrell Deitenbeck at and Mercedes Burrell at by no later than 5 p.m. EST on May 17 with the following information:

  • Company name
  • Company telephone number
  • Company mailing address
  • Company website
  • Point of Contact, to include
    • E-mail address
    • Telephone number
    • Fax number
    • Facility clearance
    • Company capabilities, as they relate to the re quested services
    • Additional information, including:
      • Company size (large or small, such as VOSB, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.)
      • Number of employees
      • Company's global experience (and, if so, in which countries)

The e-mail must include "ESSM Sources Sought Response-COMPANY NAME" in the subject field, and the information must be on a letter with company letterhead.

The contractor who receives this contract -- if the Navy issues a contract -- must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database and have as part of the Registration all current Representations and Certifications.
