Naxos of America Welcomes Labels From Italy, Switzerland, Germany and the United States to Its Distribution Family

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwire - Apr 5, 2012) - April 2012 brings the launch of La Scala Memories, Nightingale Classics, Other Minds Records and TACET at Naxos of America.

Teatro alla Scala presents a new collection of the timeless operas which have contributed to making La Scala Theatre the legend it is today. Every La Scala Memories release includes two audio CDs of the opera recorded at La Scala in a collector's edition hardback book. Each book includes an introduction to the opera, full of tales of events and exclusive anecdotes, the original theatre program, the complete libretto, and a photo album -- a story told in pictures, the opera on stage and behind the scenes including photos, sketches and designs from the theatre archive.

Established in 1992, Nightingale Classics (http://www.nightingaleclassics.com/) is a Swiss label dedicated mostly to the art of singing, especially that of the Italian Belcanto era and of the art song repertoire. Nightingale's biggest achievement is the documentation of most operatic roles sung by Soprano Edita Gruberova. Her Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini heroines are the jewels of the catalogue. Aria collections such as "The Queen of Belcanto," "Donizettis Tudor-Königinnen" or "The Art of Gruberova," demonstrate the exceptional star-status of this special artist.

When American composer John Cage died in the summer of 1992, the New Yorker ran an unattributed obituary: "His epitaph might read that he composed music in other peoples' minds." The Other Minds music festival was born. Other Minds Records (http://www.otherminds.org/shop/OMcds.html) is a product of that festival and is producing a select catalog of contemporary music recordings that explore areas seldom touched upon by mainstream institutions. Together as Other Minds, Inc., the organization is dedicated to the encouragement and propagation of contemporary music in all its forms through concerts, workshops and conferences.

Founded in 1989, TACET (http://www.tacet.de) is located in Bad Cannstatt, Stuttgart, Germany. From the beginning the label operated on two new premises; in terms of recording technique and the music that would be recorded.TACET produces music for the very highest of standards and most discerning of listeners: on CDs, LPs, SACDs and DVD-Audios. The label always strives for the most "natural" result by using a minimum of technical interference, but with a maximum amount of planning, thought and expertise.
