Naxos of America Launches Four Labels for Distribution in November

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwire - Nov 2, 2011) - In November, Naxos of America will begin distribution for two brand new labels, San Diego Symphony and Prescott Records, and two labels of the great American choral tradition, Chanticleer Records and Westminster Choir College Recordings.

The San Diego Symphony (http://www.sandiegosymphony.org) performed its first concert on December 6, 1910, and in the over 100 years since its inception, has risen to become a League of American Orchestras Tier One Orchestra. The Orchestra is committed to providing musical experiences of superior quality for the greater San Diego community and beyond. Through a rich mixture of innovative and educational programming designed to appeal to all ages and cultures, the Symphony makes music an integral part of the cultural and intellectual fabric of Southern California. The first release on its in-house label is a world premiere recording of Lucas Richman's "Behold the Bold Umbrellaphant".

Prescott Records is a label group established to promote high quality and carefully crafted recordings. Aimed at capturing the simplest components of music, Prescott Records fosters a youthful lift to the classic sound. Its inaugural release is David Ian's "Vintage Christmas", which breathes new life into a set of familiar Christmas classics in relaxed, swinging arrangements.

Chanticleer Records (http://www.chanticleer.org) was launched in 1978, releasing recordings of the Renaissance and other early music. At the conclusion of the Grammy-winning ensemble's exclusive Warner contract in 2009, Chanticleer Records was reconstituted with support from the James Irvine Fund for Financial Restructuring. In 2010 Chanticleer Records launched the CLIC (Chanticleer Live in Concert) series consisting of live concert recordings, current and archival.

Renowned as a center for choral excellence, Westminster Choir College (http://www.rider.edu/wcc) recordings feature performances by its choral ensembles, including the Westminster Choir, hailed by American Record Guide as the "gold standard for American academic choirs." Westminster is also the home of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, which regularly performs and records with the world's leading orchestras and conductors.
