Naxos of America Will Launch Six Labels and Label Groups in February 2014


FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwired - Feb 11, 2014) - Naxos of America welcomes another diverse group of labels and label groups into its distribution family this month.

MYTO Historical was founded in 1990 and continues to be one of the best names for historically valuable live opera recordings. MYTO strives to present a complete picture of every artist, releasing recordings of singers like Franco Corelli, Lauritz Melchior, Ludwig Suthaus, Max Lorenz, Astrid Varnay, and Leyla Gencer which otherwise may have never been available.

Launching their own label in 2014, the mission of Orpheus Chamber Ensemble is to create extraordinary musical experiences that enrich lives and empower individuals through collaboration, innovation, and a passion for artistic excellence. This unique way of making music involves a tremendous amount of energy from the performers involved.

Talanton Records is a label created for musicians who want to publish interesting old music, classical, world music, new music, or live recordings. The label truly encompasses the best regardless of genre.

EFFENDI is an independent jazz label founded in April 1999 and today ranks among the most important jazz labels in Canada. EFFENDI has had the opportunity to work with over 70 percent of Québec's best jazz musicians.

Born of co-founder Luciano Cantone's jazz roots, and sustained via his longstanding collaborative relationship with Nicola Conte (producer/architect of the Schema sound), Schema Records is the primary label of Edizioni Ishtar. Rearward, the second Edizioni Ishtar sub-label to be founded, is the brainchild of producers Gerardo Frisina and Gigi Campi's encyclopedic knowledge of vintage Italian jazz and focuses upon archival recordings from the 60s and 70s. The third principal Edizioni Ishtar sub-label, Sensible Records, was founded for the purpose of expanding the label group's repertory into the realm of international, ethnic and contemporary alt-classical styles. 

The Mörbisch Lake Festival takes place on an open-air stage in the town of Mörbisch near Vienna. Selections of performances from this internationally recognized festival have been captured on film and are released on the Videoland label.
