NBC Sports and Vertigo Set the Bar for Live HD Video Online

Vertigo Scores Again With HD Online Video Player for Enhanced Live and VOD Experience

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 23, 2010) -  Vertigo today announced the latest release of their immersive HD (720p) live online video player. Vertigo first partnered with NBC Sports in 2009 to deliver the Sports Emmy®-nominated, Sunday Night Football Extra interactive program, which has been enhanced and expanded for NBC Sports' Sunday night coverage of the 2010 NFL season.

This year, NBC's Sunday Night Football Extra has been enhanced to include more compelling features such as Picture-in-Picture (PIP), with a large window for watching alternate camera angles at full frame rate; "engage" mode, which allows fans to interact with rich content (highlights, extras, analysis) and statistics while still watching the game; and integrated social media elements including trivia contests, "Twitter battles" with opposing fans and real-time discussions with commentators.

NBC and Vertigo have established a long-term partnership that extends to a number of live sporting events, including the 2010 Olympic Winter Games from Vancouver, Wimbledon, the US Open golf tournament, and most recently, Notre Dame college football. "We are very pleased with the quality product and long-term relationship we've established with NBC Sports over the course of this last year," said Scott Stanfield, CEO of Vertigo. "We are excited about the new features that will be unveiled this year and grateful for the Sports Emmy® nomination NBC's Sunday Night Football Extra received for the 2009 season."

"NBC Sports is committed to delivering the highest quality sports programming broadcast and online experience," said Rick Cordella, Vice President and General Manager of NBC Sports Digital. "Vertigo continues to innovate and provide a high quality video player experience online for our marquee sports events."
