NCPDP Announces General Availability of dataQ 3.0, the Industry's One-Stop Pharmacy Data Source

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - April 7, 2011) -  NCPDP heightens data integrity in dataQ 3.0 with a deeper layer of verified pharmacy data to provide PBMs, health plans and other stakeholders faster reimbursement of prescription drug claims. dataQ 3.0 is the product's first major upgrade since its launch in 2008. dataQ robust pharmacy data is also used for pharmacy network development and credentialing, data validation, drug utilization monitoring and product recalls, along with market research and analysis.

NCPDP utilized the proven blueprint of its standards development process to solicit enhancement requests and feedback from dataQ subscribers. In an open and transparent, consensus-based process, the organization reviewed and prioritized the top features and functionality that would be included in version 3.0 through a series of work group/task group meetings.

dataQ 3.0 includes new fields and tables that expand the granularity of data used by organizations that contract with pharmacies, pay pharmacies, or otherwise interact with pharmacies. These upgrades include DEA and State Pharmacy License expiration dates, NCPDP ID deactivation and reinstatement codes, and reinstatement dates. Also added are a new table of state license information for those pharmacies that provide services to multiple states, and a new table to track and identify a transfer or change of pharmacy ownership.

"Health plans, pharmacies, PBMs and other healthcare stakeholders rely on dataQ for the most up-to-date pharmacy information," stated Phillip Scott, NCPDP senior vice president, business development. "The enhancements in Version 3.0 give our subscribers more flexibility and customized data for managing the processing of prescription drug claims."
