NCSBN Center for Regulatory Excellence Research Program Announces Request for Proposals


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - February 17, 2011) - The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) announces a deadline of July 15, 2011, for submission of scientific proposals to its Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program.

The Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program funds research projects that can have measurable impact on nursing regulation. Research priorities include: patient safety; scope of practice (licensed practical/vocational nurses [LPN/VN], registered nurses [RN] and advanced practice registered nurses [APRN] issues); nursing education; continued competence; discipline and alternatives to discipline; national and international regulatory issues; and nurse mobility. 

The Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program awards grants up to $300,000. For applications and more information, visit www.ncsbn.org/389.htm.

Since the Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program began in 2007, it has awarded more than $6 million in grants.

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose members include the boards of nursing in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and four U.S. territories -- American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the Virgin Islands. There are also seven associate members.

Mission: NCSBN provides education, service and research through collaborative leadership to promote regulatory excellence for patient safety and public protection.
