Needle Announces Partnership and Integration With Magento and Its eCommerce Platform

By Integrating With Magento, Needle's Guided Shopping Platform Provides eCommerce Sites With Exclusive Social Commerce Tools Marketers Need to Convert Online Shoppers

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - May 10, 2011) - Needle today announced it has signed a partner agreement with Magento and offers complete integration with the Magento eCommerce Platform through its API. Needle's Guided Shopping Platform, announced in November of 2010, connects crowdsourced product experts with online shoppers through a chat-based platform. Through integration with Magento, the Guided Shopping Platform takes advantage of Magento's unique capabilities and provides exclusive features, like the ability to create personalized social coupons, for companies that run on the Magento eCommerce Platform.

Those features include:

  • Shopping Controls: Visibility of the customer's shopping cart within the chat window and the ability to add/remove products and help customers through check out.
  • Needle's Social Coupon Generator: Allows for the creation of personalized one-use offers that are activated and provided within the shopper's chat window, as well as multi-use offers that the Guided Shopping Platform pushes directly to the shopper's Facebook wall during a chat session for the shopper's friends to use too.
  • Facebook Connect Feature: Permission-based feature pulls in the shopper's Facebook profile data which enables the agent to see who they are talking to and make better recommendations.
  • Shopper Tracking tools: Pulls a complete page view history and displays live URL pathing throughout the chat that shows the agent where the customer has been and what they're clicking on in real-time.
  • Photo and Info Drop: Agents immediately see pictures of the product about which the chat was initiated, and a features and selling points window ensures they don't need to leave the Guided Shopping Platform to gather information about the product.
  • Inventory Search Box: The inventory search box sits next to the chat window, enabling the agent to look up any product in the Magento database and see how many items are currently in inventory.
