Neil Kadisha and Omninet Recognize Israel's Mayor of Netanya's Support for CECI

BEVERLY HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - June 4, 2009) - The American Friends of Citizens' Empowerment Center in Israel (CECI) recently hosted a Hebrew-speaking reception where Miriam Fierberg-Ikar, Mayor of Netanya, spoke to Israeli leaders. CECI is an apolitical, non-partisan, non-profit center dedicated to promoting stability through reform of the government structure and electoral system in Israel.

Mayor Fierberg-Ikar, who served on "The President's Commission for the Examination of the Structure of Governance in Israel," addressed the country's problem of government instability, emphasizing its impact on different aspects of life in Israel, including the country's inability to execute long-term planning.

She acknowledged that there are too many parties in the current government. Each party focuses on maintaining its interests, rather than working for the good of its constituents. She emphasized change to a more effective system, saying that someone needs to "shake up" everyone because the current system is unmanageable.

Mayor Fierberg-Ikar thanked Mr. Izak Parviz Nazarian for taking the lead in the issue of government and electoral reform. She closed by announcing her pledge to be an advocate for government reform in the local municipalities.

Neil Kadisha and Omninet Capital have been supporters of CECI since its inception in 2002. Izak Parviz Nazarian, Chairman of Omninet Capital, founded the non-profit, and Dora Nazarian Kadisha serves as Executive Director for the Western Region.

Neil Kadisha, previous Qualcomm Director and Managing Member of Omninet Capital, commented, "Mayors are the only officials elected directly by their district's voters, rather than appointed by a party. Mayors have a very special role and capability in reforming the structure of governance in Israel."
