Neil Young Nominated for Three 2011 Grammy Awards: "Best Rock Album," "Solo Rock Vocal Performance," and "Best Rock Song"

BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - December 2, 2010) - Legendary rocker Neil Young was nominated for a 2011 Grammy Award last night, in a trio of categories for his current album Le Noise, which was released by Reprise Records on September 28th, 2010. Nominations are as follows: Best Rock Album: "Le Noise," Solo Rock Vocal Performance: "Angry World," and Best Rock Song: "Angry World." 

The eight-song Le Noise, which is Young's most critically acclaimed album in years, is a collaboration between the acclaimed rock icon and musician, songwriter, and multiple Grammy Award-winning producer Daniel Lanois, known for his work with U2, Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, The Neville Brothers and many others.

Young has been honored by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) many times throughout his five-decade career. In February 2010, he won his first Grammy Award for "Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package" for Archives Volume 1 (1963-1972).  He was also honored as the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year for his decades of philanthropic service, including his work with Farm Aid and the Bridge School concerts, which raise money to provide services for kids with severe speech and physical impairments. 

The Grammy Awards will be handed out at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13th, 2011. Tune in to the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards telecast, which airs that night on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
