Joint press statement issued by Nestle Rowntree, GMB and Amicus

LONDON, ENGLAND--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 12, 2006) - Nestle Rowntree management and union officials attended an ad hoc meeting of Nestle Rowntree European Works Council in Geneva on Tuesday 10th October to discuss the proposed changes to the York factory. This meeting was very constructive, with positive talks and good exchanges of information.

Earlier in the week trade union officials met with local management from Nestle Rowntree to discuss the need to review employees' terms and conditions in the factory of the future. It was agreed that the company would suspend the HR1 notice associated with terms and conditions changes and that consultation on this will continue with the aim of having balanced, sensible and mutually acceptable terms and conditions and an implementation plan by the end of the year.
