Net Optics Honored by California Council for Excellence With 2011 Cape Award for Achieving Superior Performance, Sustainability

Awards Recognize Organizations in All Sectors for Continuous Improvement Based on Criteria Set by Prestigious Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Program

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 16, 2012) - Net Optics, Inc., the leading provider of Intelligent Access and Monitoring Architecture, today announces that it has won the CAPE Prospector Award for 2011, given by the California Council for Excellence. The Council helps California organizations in all sectors continuously improve through a Baldridge-based performance excellence program. The CAPE Awards recognize businesses in all sectors for continuous improvement. Only companies meeting its highly competitive standards for organizational performance and superior productivity qualify for these high honors. Winning this award is a significant first step for Net Optics in achieving national recognition for its standards of quality and productivity.

Former Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldridge was an advocate of quality management as the key to U.S. prosperity and sustainability. In 1987, Congress passed the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Improvement Act to enhance the competitiveness of U.S. businesses, drive excellence and provide assessment tools, criteria and training to build business success and raise standards.

CAPE Award winners "demonstrate a passion for excellence," said Brent Duggleby, Chair of CAPE Council. "Californians can take pride in the accomplishments of these world-class organizations. The achievements of our winners exemplify the superior performance and sustainability that are possible from California's various industries."

Net Optics and other winners were recognized at CCE's 18th Annual Best Practices and Awards Conference in Anaheim on May 1 and 2, 2012.

"We congratulate VP Manufacturing Bill Padgett and his team for excelling in this extremely rigorous competitive arena," said Net Optics CEO Bob Shaw. "The Awards look at such criteria as leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, analysis and knowledge management, workforce and operations focus -- and of course, results. We have a lot to be proud of, and our team is already working to surpass even these high accomplishments."
