NetApp Wins Oracle Innovation Award

Company Recognized for Business Intelligence and Enterprise Performance Management

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - October 21, 2009) - Recognizing NetApp's (NASDAQ: NTAP) innovative use of Oracle® Business Intelligence software, Oracle named NetApp a winner of the 2009 Innovation Awards in the Business Intelligence/Enterprise Performance Management category. NetApp was honored for its enterprise business intelligence (eBI) program, which has enabled robust analytical capabilities using Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Suite Enterprise Edition (EE) and a near-zero-downtime enterprise data warehouse using NetApp® storage solutions.

Over the last year, NetApp established an enterprise business intelligence vision and an advanced, innovative BI architecture using Oracle BI Suite EE and NetApp storage solutions. The new eBI solution transformed how NetApp uses information and achieved many of the industry's long-standing BI goals, including hourly or near-real-time data refresh; functional, role-based analytics in one intuitive, intelligent eBI application; multiple ways to view data; and agile analytical business solutions. Furthermore, NetApp's eBI solution will enable many new cutting-edge capabilities to help speed business processes and improve productivity.

"Oracle's recognition of our eBI program is a testament to the success of our program and the IT team that made it happen," said Marina Levinson, senior vice president and chief information officer at NetApp. "We believe our eBI program is the first truly integrated enterprise BI solution and platform in a multibillion-dollar company. This award exemplifies the IT innovation that has dramatically improved the way we use information to support our company's strategic decision making."

The Oracle Innovation Awards are judged by an awards committee, consisting of members from Oracle and third parties including users groups. Nominees are judged on a variety of factors, including level of effect (ROI/business benefits) relative to the size of the organization, level of user adoption, how innovation has transformed the enterprise, and future plans for change.
