NetBase 2012 Election Mood Meter Tracks Voters' Feelings About Presidential Candidates in Real-Time

Embeddable Dashboard Available for Websites

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 16, 2012) - NetBase, the Enterprise Social Intelligence (ESI) Platform company, created the 2012 Election Mood Meter to measure the feelings expressed on Twitter by voters about the presidential and vice presidential candidates in real time.

After the two remaining presidential debates (October 16 and October 22), NetBase will produce a graph mapping voter reaction on Twitter to the debate discussion topics, minute by minute. The meter widget is available now through 2013 for media to embed on their website. See instructions below.

What is the Mood Meter?
The Mood Meter is a dial updated every 10 seconds that captures and measures the sentiment expressed by Twitter users about the presidential and vice presidential candidates. Watch the arrow move between positive (100) and negative (-100) for a real-time look into the opinions of social voters.

How does it measure mood?
With access to Twitter, NetBase analyzes each tweet about the candidates using its technology that reads language and understands how humans speak -- profanity, slang, and all. The dials represent a moment in time -- a cumulative group of tweet sentiment over the past 10 minutes -- and changes every ten seconds throughout the day.
