Neterion and Teak Technologies Partner on First 10-Gb Congestion-Free Ethernet Switching Solution for IBM BladeCenter

Scalable Switching Platform Leverages High Performance ASIC From Neterion's Xframe Family of V-NIC 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapters

CUPERTINO, CA and ST. LOUIS, MO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 1, 2007 -- Neterion, Inc., the leader in the 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter market, announced that they are supplying their high performance ASIC to Blade.org founding member, Teak Technologies, who has developed a pioneering 10-Gb Congestion-Free Ethernet™ (CFE) switching solution for the IBM BladeCenter™ virtual server architecture. The switching solution is being previewed today at IBM's PartnerWorld 2007 event in St. Louis.

The new switching solution is designed for data centers that have adopted the IBM BladeCenter H or HT chassis in order to meet compute-intensive workloads, and broadband-media applications that require high-performance, low latency 10 Gbps Ethernet connectivity.

The 10-Gb CFE Expansion Card on Teak Technologies' switching solution for the IBM BladeCenter will be integrated with Neterion's advanced ASIC featured in the company's line of 10-GbE Xframe® V-NIC™ adapters. The ASIC is based on a sophisticated state machine architecture that delivers the highest performance and reliability available, and is designed to offer virtualization in hardware at the I/O level enabling end-to-end virtualized networks.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to partner with Teak Technologies and provide I/O silicon for the industry's first 10-Gb CFE Expansion Card for the IBM BladeCenter platform," said Philippe Levy, vice president of marketing at Neterion. "This industry-leading combination of price, performance and low latency is the latest example of 10-GbE leading the fabric convergence movement in enterprise data centers."

"In a Collaborative Ethernet framework, switches no longer perform in isolated islands, but collaborate proactively with all virtualized compute and storage I/O end-points to maximize application availability and experience," said Sanjay Dua, chief marketing officer at Teak Technologies. "We are very pleased that our partnership with Neterion has allowed us to accelerate delivery of a commercial-grade 10-Gb CFE Expansion Card for IBM BladeCenter server blades."

Teak Technologies 10-Gb Congestion-Free Ethernet switching platform targets mission critical applications that include enterprise-class block-level storage connectivity, high-definition mixed-media content retrieval, caching, and transport in IP-TV and cable applications, and high performance compute and database clusters.

"This switching solution, which arose out of the partnership between Teak Technologies, Fujitsu, and Neterion, further demonstrates that the thriving Blade.org ecosystem is delivering value-add solutions that solve real-world customer problems," said Doug Balog, chairman of Blade.org, and vice president and business line executive, IBM BladeCenter.
