TM Forum Catalyst Project Improves Integration, Automation and Collaboration Between Sales Departments and Operations Support Systems

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - May 19, 2010) -  Netformx, a global leader in telecom design and proposal generation platforms, today announced a new TM Forum Catalyst project in collaboration with salesforce.com. The proof-of-concept initiative aims to define and demonstrate a framework, consistent with TM Forum's Application Framework (TAM), to help communications service providers (CSPs) improve the efficiency and profitability of selling, deploying and fulfilling complex, dynamic network solutions, such as MPLS and unified communications, to enterprise customers.

Today's enterprise networking solutions are increasingly composed of uniquely configured service offerings that change dynamically; at the same time, the selling of these complex network services involves labor-intensive and error-prone data collection and management processes. On display in Forumville at Management World 2010 from May 18-20 in Nice, the 'Effective Sell of Advanced Network Services and Solutions' Catalyst project will explore how CSPs can create more accurate and orderable sales quotes by integrating sales management and Operations Support Systems (OSS) to improve data sharing and version control management, while automating end-to-end processes throughout the Order-to-Cash lifecycle.

  • The framework created by the Catalyst will facilitate a much smoother Order-to-Cash process by enabling collaboration and integration between sales, sales management, sales engineering (SE), network engineering (NE), sales operations, service, support and fulfilment.

  • The key benefits provided by the Catalyst framework are improved sales productivity through automation and collaboration, greater sales accuracy and reduced time to revenue, and enhanced tools for sales, SEs and NEs to collaborate on opportunities during the lead to order process. The Catalyst also enables an improved ability to forward documents to ordering and provisioning, and provisioning can update the solution with "as built" adjustments to keep the design ready for future growth.
