NetPro Ships Major Upgrade to Security and Compliance Suite

ChangeAuditor and SecurityManager Upgrades Enable Active Directory Auditing and Security Enforcement Across Multiple Forests

PHOENIX, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 19, 2006 -- NetPro Computing, Inc., a leading provider of distributed services management software, today announced a major upgrade to its Active Directory Security and Compliance Suite. Upgraded versions of the suite's ChangeAuditor and SecurityManager solutions feature new cross-forest auditing and security enhancements to enable enterprise-wide management from a single client, as well as additional audit events and advanced email alert configurations.

"For organizations with widely distributed networking environments, management across forests is a real challenge," said Rod Simmons, Director of Product Management for NetPro. "The enhancements to our suite change that reality dramatically for our customers. They enable cross-forest auditing and alerting, and proactive security enforcement and remediation -- all from a single client -- making centralized compliance and security management simple for the first time."

Available today, the Active Directory Security and Compliance Suite features versions 3.5 of ChangeAuditor and SecurityManager, NetPro's award-winning Active Directory management software. ChangeAuditor for Active Directory, Exchange and File Servers is the only solution that drives the security and control of Active Directory by tracking all key Active Directory configuration changes in real-time. NetPro's SecurityManager ushers in a whole new breed of security for Active Directory, using a foundation of Microsoft security best practices to monitor, enforce and remediate corporate Active Directory security policies in real-time. The combined solution enables powerful compliance management, not only auditing and alerting on changes, but also preventing unauthorized changes from occurring in the first place and advising when they are attempted.

ChangeAuditor 3.5

ChangeAuditor 3.5 enables administrators to manage multiple ChangeAuditor repositories from a single client, whether residing in a single forest or different forests. With cross-forest support, administrators have several options for connecting to the repository service or the database including Forest, Global Catalog, Manual or Database Direct. Each of these connections can be saved in a connection profile that is then available via the drop down menu for future client connections. In addition, ChangeAuditor version 3.5 features 12 new audit events to further boost ChangeAuditor's auditing and compliance capabilities, as well as enhanced email alert configurations enabling advanced customization of email notifications.

SecurityManager 3.5

Cross-Forest Client Support is also enabled in SecurityManager 3.5, giving administrators the power to manage the SecurityManager inspector service in the same forest or different forests from a single SecurityManager client. The new cross-forest support gives administrators the option to connect to the Inspector Service or the database via the Forest, Global Catalog, Manual, or Database Direct connection options. Each of these connections can be saved in a connection profile that is then available via the drop down menu for future client connections.
