NetPro's RestoreADmin 3.0 Now Features Restore and Backup of Active Directory Configuration Naming Contexts

Updated Solution Ensures Backup of Microsoft Active Directory Communication Hub and Enables Recreation of Deleted Objects When Restore Isn't Allowed

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 23, 2007 -- Directory Experts Conference -- NetPro Computing, Inc., a leading provider of distributed services management software, today announced the general availability of RestoreADmin 3.0, a significant upgrade to its online backup and restore solution for Active Directory. RestoreADmin 3.0 now provides backup and restore coverage of Active Directory's Configuration Naming Context, dramatically enhancing the restoration capabilities of the solution. Further, in addition to supporting rollbacks of existing, and deleted objects, the software now recreates deleted objects when a restore operation is prohibited.

"The Configuration Naming Context is the communication hub of Active Directory," said Rod Simmons, director of product management for NetPro. "It contains friendly object and attribute translations across languages, as well as the core communication topology for both Active Directory and Exchange, just to name some of the key data. Without the ability to incrementally restore the configuration container, so much is lost when there's a failure. RestoreADmin 3.0 ensures not only backup and restore of this vital system information, but also recreation of deleted objects in cases where restores are disallowed."

"There is a definite need for solutions that drive efficiency in Windows Infrastructures," said Tejas Dixit, Partner Manager at Microsoft Corporation. "We are pleased to see NetPro upgrading its Active Directory management solutions, especially those that help to ensure uninterrupted service for users through proactive backup and restore."

Available today, RestoreADmin 3.0 allows administrators to perform easy online restorations of deleted objects, associated attributes, security descriptors, passwords and group memberships, saving valuable time and reducing the risk of outages by eliminating time-consuming scripts and manual processes. With RestoreADmin 3.0, users can backup objects and attributes from the configuration naming context, providing a single instance recovery store for online recovery. This enables administrators who accidentally delete the wrong site, for example, to recover the data simply by selecting the deleted site from the RestoreADmin recycle bin and perform an online restore of the deleted objects and their attributes in minutes. This restore capability holds true even when restore of certain deleted objects, such as query policies, is disallowed. RestoreADmin 3.0 recreates the deleted objects, restoring them to their previous state without time consuming manual research and effort.
