NetScaler Gains Ground on Traditional Traffic Management Vendors Enroute to 500th Customer Milestone

Dow Jones Marketwatch Becomes Customer Number 500 as NetScaler Continues Record Revenue Growth

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 20, 2005 -- NetScaler, Inc., the global leader in accelerated application delivery systems, today announced that Dow Jones Marketwatch has selected NetScaler to accelerate the performance of its mission-critical business applications. With this new customer, NetScaler officially passed the 500 customer milestone, adding approximately 100 new enterprise customers in the past quarter. This milestone comes on the heels of a recent market share study from leading analyst firm APM Advisors, which reported that NetScaler now ranks second only to F5 Networks in total market share for Application Front End products, more than double the share of its next closest competitor.(1) A recent study by Gartner also ranked NetScaler among the top worldwide revenue leaders in what it refers to as the Advanced Application Delivery Controller market. Growth in the overall application delivery equipment market, according to Gartner, is being driven by innovators like NetScaler who are taking market share from the traditional load balancing and content switching vendors.(2)

NetScaler originally gained widespread recognition for its success in accelerating some of the most high profile sites on the Internet. As a result, all of the top five e-businesses in the world now rely on NetScaler to ensure fast, secure, reliable application performance for their end users. Today, Global 2000 companies across all industry segments are increasingly turning to NetScaler to bring this same benefit to a wide variety of enterprise applications, accelerating performance as well as managing traditional load balancing and application availability requirements. Deploying NetScaler's high-performance application delivery systems in front of enterprise data centers has been shown to accelerate the performance of custom web applications as well as packaged enterprise applications like Oracle, PeopleSoft, Siebel, SAP and Microsoft Outlook by up to 5x or more(3). And, unlike products that accelerate only simple web applications or products that are limited to users in certain offices, NetScaler is the only solution on the market that can accelerate the performance of "any application, to any user, anywhere."

"NetScaler's success with large enterprise customers over the past few quarters has followed a consistent pattern," said B.V. Jagadeesh, president and CEO, NetScaler. "The initial inquiry usually comes from someone seeking to improve response time on a given application that is seen as critical to their business. Once they see how much more efficiently the targeted application runs with NetScaler, and how much money can be saved by avoiding the cost of unnecessary servers, bandwidth and legacy network equipment, they inevitably begin evaluating NetScaler for deployment in front of additional applications elsewhere in the company and replacing traditional L4-7 load balancing products with the functionality already built into NetScaler."
