Netsmart Expands Community Care Platform with Acquisition of HealthMEDX®

Comprehensive solutions and growing nationwide provider network provides clinical and business foundation for community care providers

OVERLAND PARK, KS--(Marketwired - October 27, 2016) - Continuing to broaden its scope across the continuum of care, Netsmart today announced the acquisition of HealthMEDX®, a Missouri-based developer of electronic medical record (EMR) solutions for long-term and post-acute care including: continuing care retirement communities, assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing and home care providers.

The addition of long-term care (LTC) capabilities firmly establishes Netsmart as the largest and most comprehensive supplier of community care technology solutions serving providers in the post-acute and human services segments of healthcare.

There is a growing demand for services in LTC and other sectors served by HealthMEDX. U.S. Census Bureau data indicates the population of those aged 65 and older will more than double by 2050 and comprise 20 percent of the U.S. population. Many of those served by LTC have multiple co-occurring health conditions that require coordinated, integrated care for improved outcomes.
