Network Equipment Technologies Receives Award for Marine Corps Equipment Installation

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - September 14, 2010) -  NET Federal, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. ("NET") (NASDAQ: NWK), announced today that it received a $1.4 million award from a major systems integrator for technology equipment in the US Marine Corps' Transition Switch Module (TSM) program. This follow-on order for NET's VX Series delivers features necessary for Government customers to move to software enabled voice solutions while maintaining the strict security and reliability that the Department of Defense (DoD) requires in its voice systems.

NET's VX Series is selected by organizations looking to obtain the benefits of VoIP through a versatile, integrated voice exchange solution that provides interoperability with existing PBX and IP PBX systems. As a multi-function voice switch, the VX can be deployed in distributed networks to reduce and consolidate PBX infrastructure. The VX extends advanced call system features from centralized data centers to remote locations. With its remote survivability features, NET's VX Series provides continuous local call service and intelligent trunk routing in the event of network connectivity failures.

JITC-tested and proven by use by the DoD and NATO, NET's VX intelligent switches support advanced MLPP and security features that are in line with the new AS-SIP definition.
