Network Equipment Technologies to Showcase Solutions Supporting Microsoft Lync Server 2010 at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 11, 2011) - Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. ("NET") (NASDAQ: NWK) announced today that it will be showcasing its solutions that support Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and Microsoft Exchange 2010 at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Los Angeles, CA from July 10-14, 2011 in booth #336.

The conference will provide attendees with the latest information on Microsoft Corp. supported product innovations and solutions, as well as the opportunity to learn directly from top executives on using a Microsoft partnership to grow a business.

NET, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, will highlight several new and upcoming products designed to enable enterprise adoption of unified communications (UC), including its SmartSIP 2.0 and soon-to-be released UX1000. Demonstrations will include NET's UX2000, a Survivable Branch Appliance (SBA) for Microsoft Lync 2010.

"NET's UX Series integrated SBAs are an interoperability solution designed for enterprises seeking the benefits of unified communications with Microsoft Lync," said Kapil Sharma, Principal Group Program Manager on Lync at Microsoft.

NET's UX Series includes state-of-the-art network and signal processing technology with a 24Gbs, non-blocking, IP-core backplane that is capable of routing more than 35 million packets per second. High-performance digital signal processors (DSPs) operating on this backplane provide wire-speed performance during even the most demanding, high complexity transcoding and security encryption operations.

SmartSIP is an enterprise application built using Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API (UCMA) to address the interoperability of legacy SIP endpoints, SIP-based wireless phones, and SIP-DECT phones with Microsoft Lync Server 2010. SmartSIP not only extends enterprises' existing SIP endpoints, but also reduces operating expenses by automatically provisioning the endpoints.

"NET continues to focus on innovation that enables and extends interoperability and survivability for Microsoft unified communications," said Kevin Isacks, Chief Technology Officer for NET. "We are assembling a comprehensive set of solutions to help drive the adoption of unified communications." Isacks will present a live demonstration titled: "Integrated UI simplifies management and configuration when deploying Lync SBA" on Tuesday, July 12 at 5:00pm PT in the Microsoft Business Productivity Solutions Theater.
