Neuro Kinetics to Preview VEST™ 6.5 Analysis Software at Otolaryngology Conference

PITTSBURGH, PA--(Marketwire - September 13, 2007) - Neuro Kinetics, Inc. (NKI;, manufacturers of noninvasive medical diagnostic equipment used worldwide for balance, vestibular and neurological disorder tests, said today that it will demonstrate the soon-to-be released version 6.5 of its VEST™ software at the upcoming American Academy of Otolaryngology Annual Meeting and Expo (Washington, D.C., September 16 - 19th).

NKI's VEST software is used by otolaryngologists, neurologists, neuro-otologists, audiologists and other clinicians to operate the company's diagnostic devices and then to analyze the data generated through an array of available motion, ocular motor and nystagmus tests.

The new VEST 6.5 version adds online updating of the software, enhanced analytical tools and more options for generating reports and organizing test results.

"We listened to our customers and have incorporated many of the requested improvements in the latest version of VEST. This upgrade continues our commitment to increasing the accuracy and value of our early-screening and diagnostic testing as well as to improving testing efficiencies in the clinic. Our goal is to help clinicians by enabling them to provide an improved, more efficient referral path for patients while enhancing their revenue stream," said Howison Schroeder, NKI president and CEO.

"The upgrade is another step in our program of continuous improvement for the VEST software," Schroeder said.

Among the new features in VEST 6.5 are:

-- A new protocol module called Custom Test that allows a clinician to
collect stimulus and eye-response data for a wide range of manual or
unscripted motion or ocular motion maneuvers based on a patient's unique
needs. Examples of new custom tests that can be undertaken through VEST 6.5
include extended optokinetic nystagmus (OKN) stimulus, extended Pursuit
tracker and a new Manual Head Shake. All the new tests include video
    recording and data collection.
-- Efficiency enhancements that speed up the process of completing an
analysis and optimizing analysis between tests.
-- Tools that enable clinicians to save all or any portion of high-
quality, high-resolution digital video images can be shared with other
doctors for additional feedback, stored with patient's file or inserted in
    a Microsoft® Office PowerPoint® presentation.

VEST 6.5 is now in beta testing and NKI expects to make it available to users in November. The company plans to release VEST 7.0 next year.

VEST software is based on LabView™ technology and can be used with virtually all operating systems. The software is designed for use in clinical and hospital settings, as well as research facilities. It includes reimbursable balance tests and normative data for comparative analysis.

Also at the Washington, D.C. conference this month, NKI will demonstrate its recently introduced I-Portal®-VNG (Video Nystagmography System) and I-Portal-Super VNG, as well as its well-known NOTC system, all operated through the VEST software.

The I-Portal products are designed for day-to-day, in-office early screening. They incorporate lightweight and easy-to-use 4D eye-tracking goggles and provide detailed, high-resolution digital imaging of eye movements, along with comprehensive, real-time reporting. They operate at a speed of 60+Hz with exceptionally clear eye image. NKI algorithms and related technologies generate stable eye tracking data that enhances clinical accuracy.

The Neuro-Otologic Test Center (NOTC), meanwhile, features the dramatically improved Barany (rotational) Chair Systems that NKI pioneered. With more than 1.5 million interpolated encoder points, the NOTC generates highly accurate balance, neurologic and vertigo test results. The system's patented motor incorporates advanced digital technologies, fiber optics, optical encoders and unique cooling, slip ring and bearing designs. Various versions of the NOTC are in use at all of America's top ten Ear, Nose and Throat Hospitals, as well as at leading medical facilities in Europe, Asia and Australia.
