Nevada Captive Insurance Association Honors National Risk Retention Association General Counsel

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - Sep 21, 2011) - Robert H. "Skip" Myers, General Counsel of the National Risk Retention Association (NRRA), received the Nevada Captive Insurance Association's (NCIA) Alice A. Molasky-Arman Award at the Association's annual convention, James Wadhams, President of the Association, announced.

The Award recognized Myers' influential role over the years in defending the authority of Risk Retention Groups (RRG) to operate nationally when licensed in a single state under the federal Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986. He was also cited for contributing to the establishment of Nevada as a domicile for RRGs.

Alice Arman, former Nevada Commissioner of Insurance for whom the award is named, made the presentation. "Skip Myers has been recognized as one of the world's leading insurance attorneys. With Skip's endorsement on behalf of the NRRA for Nevada as a viable RRG domicile, this State's reputation soared," she said. Arman also commended Myers and NRRA for leading the industry campaign to enact the Risk Retention Modernization Act of 2011 (HR 2126), now before Congress.

Sanford "Sandy" Elsass, Vice Chairman of NRRA and a Director of NCIA, accepted on behalf of Myers. He will present the award personally to Myers at the Annual Conference of NRRA in Washington, DC, October 5-7.
