Nevada Star Resource Corp. Stakes Additional Ground in MAN Alaska Copper-Gold Project Area

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 4, 2005) - Nevada Star Resource Corp. (TSX VENTURE:NEV)(OTCBB:NVSRF) ("Nevada Star") is pleased to report it has staked 260 additional Federal claims, expanding the MAN Alaska Copper-Gold Project area in the Delta Mining District of south-central Alaska. The additional property is prospective for lode copper, gold, and silver mineralization and generally contiguous with Nevada Star's existing claims in the Project area.

The staking of these additional claims, which totals approximately 24 square km (6005 acres) in area, increases Nevada Star's MAN Alaska Copper-Gold Project area to 47 square km (11,619 acres). The MAN Alaska Copper-Gold Project area is located in the northern section of the MAN Alaska Projects area.

Nevada Star's new claims were selected for staking after exploration database compilation, GIS analysis, and field work completed during the 2005 field program (see Press Release of August 21, 2005). The property includes claims in the area of the Specimen, Gezzi and Broxson Ridge lode Cu-Au-Ag prospects, all of which are open laterally and vertically.

MINING HISTORY

The MAN Alaska Copper-Gold Project area has had significant intermittent placer copper-gold production since the early 1900s. Placer copper and gold occurs in the streams draining the area of the lode Cu-Au prospects. The lode source of the placer copper and gold remains to be determined, but could be located on the lode prospects claims. The results of 2005 field program will be announced as soon as the final assay results are returned.

Nevada Star is seeking a joint venture partner for the 100% company controlled MAN Alaska Copper-Gold Project area, while focusing on identification of drill targets via compilation and field geochemical, geophysical surveys, and geological mapping.

Bill Stone, P.Geo, PhD, Vice President of Exploration for Nevada Star, is the qualified person, as per National Instrument 43-101, responsible for the information in this press release.

About the MAN Alaska Project

Nevada Star Resource Corp's 725 square km (280 square miles) of Alaskan property, officially called the MAN Alaska Project, is located 160 miles southeast of Fairbanks and 250 miles northeast of Anchorage. Exploration by Nevada Star began in 1995 in this large area, which is characterized by extremely high nickel (up to 15.4% Ni), PGE (up to 40 g/t Pt+Pd+Au+Ag), and gold (up to 7 g/t Au) concentrations in surface samples.

Exploration results to date on the MAN Alaska Project indicate potential for significant discoveries of nickel, platinum-group elements, gold, and copper.

The MAN Alaska Project consists of three distinct areas; two nickel-copper (PGE) project areas (Area 1 and Area 2) and one copper-gold project area (area 3). The project areas are accessible from two paved highways and several lodges. View the project maps at http://www.nevadastar.com/s/MANProject.asp for a breakdown of the project areas.

Area 1, the Fish Lake-Dunite Hill project area is presently under joint venture with Anglo American Exploration (USA), Inc. (AAEUS). AAEUS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Anglo American plc, a global leader in the mining and natural resource sector. Under the terms of the joint venture agreement, AAEUS can earn a 51 percent interest in the southern portion of the MAN Alaska property by spending a total of $12 million USD by 2008. AAEUS has the right to increase their interest by an additional 19 percent by completing a positive feasibility study, at its expense, and an additional 5 percent by arranging production financing for both AAEUS and Nevada Star. Areas 2 and 3 are being explored by Nevada Star and are available for Joint Venture.

Nevada Star Resource Corp. is a mineral exploration company that uses advanced technology to search for metals that are in high demand world-wide. In addition to the Alaska property, Nevada Star currently has projects in Nevada and Utah. The Nevada and Utah properties are in joint partnership with Round Mountain Gold, and Western Utah Copper Company, respectively. Both properties are scheduled to go into production in early 2006.
