New 5.8GHz WiMax Pico-Base Station From Tranzeo With Proximetry's AirSync EMS Fills Market Niche

Tranzeo's flexible, feature-rich, outdoor rated pico-Base Station is a Finalist in the 2008 Industry Choice Awards at WiMAX World EMEA See it at Tranzeo's Booth #600

PITT MEADOWS, BRITISH COLUMBIA and SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA and MUNICH, GERMANY--(Marketwire - May 19, 2008) - Tranzeo Wireless Technologies Inc. (TSX:TZT), a leading producer of high-performance wireless broadband and WiMAX communication systems, announced today at WiMAX World EMEA its new low cost, turn-key 5.8GHz WiMAX pico-base station solution using Proximetry's market-leading intelligent provisioning and management software, AirSync™. The 5.8GHz solution for the unlicensed frequency band expands Tranzeo's existing 3.5GHz licensed band product line offering wireless internet service providers (WISPs) and emerging carriers a price/performance breakthrough for WiMAX with enhanced base station performance management.

Like its 3.5GHz pico-base station, the TR-WMX-5.8-pBS is designed for broadband service providers seeking to cost effectively accommodate the unique requirements of rural and enterprise customers. Specifically, the Tranzeo pico-base station design is outdoor-rated and can survive exposure to the elements without requiring a protective enclosure. Therefore, it can be mounted in a much greater variety of locations in much less time and at a lower cost. Combined with Tranzeo's existing family of 5.8GHz WiMAX subscriber units and Proximetry's network management software, it provides a comprehensive, flexible and turn-key last-mile solution.

Leveraging the company's partnership with Proximetry, the Tranzeo WiMAX product family is AirSync™ enabled which enables each base station and subscriber unit to be centrally managed and provisioned. Proximetry also offers an expanded network management product that enables the Tranzeo system to be autonomously provisioned and service levels managed according to network policies and the real-time use and behavior of the network.

"Tranzeo has a long history of supporting customers in the 5GHz unlicensed band," explains Tranzeo USA President Dave Gelvin, who oversees the company's WiMAX product line. "Our existing customers have been asking us for this product and we see a large demand for this class of product."

"With a high quality, easily customizable, off-the-shelf EMS like AirSync, equipment vendors such as Tranzeo can concentrate all of their engineering resources on product development," said Tracy Trent, Proximetry's CEO. "The result is that they can release more new products more quickly. In addition, the buyer gets an upgradeable EMS that can be used for advanced performance management and differentiated services resulting in improved efficiencies and greater revenues."

Tranzeo and Proximetry's 3.5GHz solution is being deployed by Exatel, S.A., one of Poland's largest telecommunications operators. The rollout begins with three major cities and then expands to over 20 cities by the end of 2008. The 5.8GHz pico base station will begin shipping to customers in mid summer of 2008 and will have a single unit price of $1,950.
