New Aberdeen RPO Research Sponsored by The RightThing Provides Detailed Look Into the ROI of RPO

FINDLAY, OH--(Marketwire - December 13, 2010) - The RightThing, a leader in recruitment process outsourcing, (RPO) today announced the release of a new benchmark report, "Outsourcing Recruitment is Not Evil: RPO Builds Its Business Case on Flexibility, Scalability and Outcomes," by Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks company (NYSE: HHS). The report, sponsored by The RightThing, objectively builds the business case for RPO, serves as a roadmap for organizations to evaluate if outsourcing all or parts of the recruitment process is a viable alternative to in-house recruitment, and examines the key competences and enablers that allow organizations to maximize their provider partnership.

Compiling data from nearly 200 organizations, the report concludes that companies using RPO achieved results that were on par with, if not better than all others. Most notably, the most successful companies adopting RPO saw significant improvements in overall quality with annual increases in client satisfaction and hiring manager satisfaction as well as decreases in time to fill and attrition.

"When talking to our members in the HR and recruiting communities, my mission with this research project became clearer than ever," said Jayson Saba, Research Analyst with Aberdeen's Human Capital Management practice. "There is a dire need for education to help organizations build a case for outsourcing recruitment. Therefore, our methodology first sought to determine if RPO is an effective alternative to in-house efforts. Then, we examined best practices exhibited by top-performing companies that are achieving the most gains."

Exploring the dynamics between buyer and provider, the report also found that those with the most successful partnerships established clear accountability, on-going communication across all levels and provided benchmark data and metrics for on-going success. The study also concluded that of those pursuing RPO solutions 77% indicated they would recommend it to peers.

"Aberdeen's findings further emphasize that RPO has become a viable way for many organizations to build and maintain a successful recruiting solution which is also reflected in the growth of our industry," said Terry Terhark, CEO of The RightThing. "These findings can be used as a critical tool in establishing future strategies and help both buyers and providers maximize partnership success."

For those companies considering an RPO solution, the report also provides a detailed look at specific recruitment challenges and provides insight into how those can be met with an RPO solution.
