New Albany Dentist Now Offering IV Sedation

NEW ALBANY, IN--(Marketwired - July 15, 2015) - Dr. Brad Frederick, a leading New Albany general dentist, is now certified to render IV sedation to fearful patients or those who need extensive dental work completed in one visit.

Dr. Frederick is an associate of Dr. Ronald Receveur, who provides dental implants and all forms of sedation at his New Albany dental practice. Dr. Frederick recently attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa., for his IV sedation training in order to become a certified IV sedation provider.

About 20 percent of Americans have dental anxiety, and IV sedation allows fearful patients to receive the dental care they need without anxiety, pain or the sights, sounds and smells of the dental procedure. The New Albany dental office also offers nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation.

“IV sedation is a game-changer that allows us to better serve the millions of Americans who have a dental phobia or those who need complex treatments completed in one visit,” Dr. Frederick said. “IV sedation has the power to convert even the most fearful patients into patients who love coming to the dentist.”

Dr. Receveur has used IV sedation to treat patients for the past several years and said his patients will benefit from having two doctors equipped to render IV sedation in a safe, comfortable setting.

“Most dental office are not qualified to offer IV sedation, so our patients who require sedation are happy to know that they can soon see either dentist in the office,” Dr. Receveur said. “This expanded service will make scheduling appointments much more convenient for them.”

Dr. Receveur, who practices in New Albany, Ind., across the Ohio River from Louisville, Ky., offers cosmetic dentistry services and general dentistry such as teeth cleanings, X-rays, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, teeth whitening and veneers. The dental practice includes a state-of-the-art dental lab, where technicians can create any dental restoration from crowns to dentures.

Dr. Receveur also has vast experience with All on 4 dental implants, All on 6 dental implants, One Day Smile Solution, dental implants in one hour, bone grafting and sinus lifts, all with IV sedation dentistry. He has been restoring implants with prosthetics and complex dentistry for 25 years and surgically placing implants since 2008. He places more than 500 dental implants every year.

Dr. Receveur offers a five-year warranty on all cosmetic and prosthetic work.

Dr. Receveur, a New Albany native, has been the family dentist of choice for Southern Indiana and Louisville since 1981. Dr. Receveur was born with a partial cleft palate that left him with a missing front tooth. As a child he “wore an awful removable partial.” As a teenager, Dr. Receveur received a permanent bridge, but his dentist destroyed one of his healthy, natural teeth in the process. These dental experiences helped drive him to find better dental solutions for his patients.

Dr. Receveur graduated from Indiana University Southeast with honors in chemistry, after which he earned his doctorate in Dental Surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Receveur has attended more than 5,000 hours of postgraduate training and even gone to Portugal to study with the best dentists in the world. He has been awarded numerous advanced certifications in implant, sedation, comprehensive, restorative and aesthetic dentistry so he may provide the most current dental techniques to his Louisville and New Albany dental patients.

Dr. Frederick is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and has training in orthodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Frederick earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of the men’s soccer team. He graduated high school from St. Xavier in Louisville.

Dr. Frederick was a dental lab technician before receiving his DMD. That gives him unique knowledge in cosmetic dentistry elements like crowns, bridges, veneers and smile design. He has received training in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics (root canals), orthodontics and dental implants at the Midwest Implant Institute.
