New Android App Is the First to Leverage Cloud-Based Secure Element Technology for Transit Access

Host Card Emulation Software Provides Chicago Transit Riders With Tap & Pay Convenience

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - March 03, 2015) - SimplyTapp, the leading provider of Host Card Emulation (HCE) platforms for cloud-based mobile credentials, today announced support for the next release of Dixon Mobility's Chicago Transit - CTA, a popular mobile app used by commuters, which leverages real-time prediction technologies so riders can manage their schedules.

SimplyTapp's HCE technology allows transit riders the ability to pre-load their physical fare cards onto their Android mobile phones, make fare payments and pass conveniently through transit access points, similar to the way that Apple Pay provides mobile retail purchases.

"We could not be more pleased to support Dixon Mobility's transit application," said Doug Yeager, Co-founder and CEO of SimplyTapp. "The ability to securely provide mobile credentials within transit applications opens up a real opportunity for application developers to create a much more convenient rider experience and really change the way transit access is managed."

Chicago area transit riders who download and install applications like Chicago Transit - CTA that include HCE will experience a new more secure and quicker way to access the transit system than using their existing Ventra Cards.

"Mobility is all about how people will use devices to make everyday tasks easier," remarked Ian Dixon, Founder and CEO of Dixon Mobility. "The opportunity to offer our users in Chicago a unique and exciting feature like cloud-based access reinforces our commitment toward that ideal."
