New Apps Keep Grosvenor Square London Hotel in Tune With the Way People Work and Play

Aimed at keeping check-in simple for the growing number of smartphone users, the Mayfair hotel's new service was initiated in mid-November and allows travelers to London, who are also Marriott Rewards members, to check-in after 4 p.m. the day prior to their arrival and later prompts them with an automatic notification when their room is ready. Initiated in more than 300 hotels across the United States and Canada earlier this summer, the mobile check-in feature is part of the free Marriott mobile app available in the Apple iTunes Store and Google Play.

The new app is personalized to each event's specific needs and allows requests to be made up to three days before the meeting and then throughout the event. Planned to be available in 19 languages and set to roll out globally in 2014, the app is available for all internet-enabled devices including the iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire and laptops.
