New ARCHOS 605 WiFi Now Available -- Only Portable Media Player Offering Wireless Movie Downloads

New Player Features up to 160GB of Capacity, and Ability to Surf, Stream, Download and Record Digital Media on a Handheld Device

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - August 30, 2007) - ARCHOS announced today the availability of the highly anticipated ARCHOS 605 WiFi Portable Media Player (PMP), introducing consumers to surfing the Internet, streaming content from the PC, downloading video wirelessly from the Internet, and recording TV shows and DVDs onto a portable handheld player.

With four different capacity options -- 4GB Flash with built-in SD slot for more capacity, 30GB, 80GB and 160GB -- the ARCHOS 605 WiFi delivers all of the features and style consumers demand in portable entertainment. The ARCHOS 605 WiFi features extremely high quality video, easy access to movies and music, and personalization options to suit individual lifestyles. With multiple ways to get content onto the device, partnerships with major digital content companies around the world, and the highest quality screen resolution of any PMP (800x480, 220dpi), the ARCHOS 605 WiFi is the gold standard in portable media players.

"The ARCHOS 605 will appeal to the consumer interested in entertainment, not just the latest gadgets, with several ways to access and enjoy content, extremely easy set-up and use, and a starting price of $230," said Henri Crohas, ARCHOS founder and CEO. "ARCHOS gives customers options for accessing entertainment, whether favorite TV shows, movies from CinemaNow, or online video from the likes of Dailymotion and YouTube, while keeping it simple and cost-effective for the savvy traveler, hip youngster or seasoned commuter."

Easiest Access to Content

Providing consumers with multiple yet easy ways of getting content onto the player was paramount to the ARCHOS team in designing its Generation 5 product line. The ARCHOS 605 WiFi differs from previous models by offering one-touch access to the new ARCHOS Content Portal, featuring movies and music from ARCHOS partners CinemaNow and others.

ARCHOS introduces four easy ways to access and enjoy content on the player:

-- Surf - Use the ARCHOS 605 WiFi's wireless Internet capability, combined with the optional Web browser plug-in to connect to the Internet, surf Web sites, check email or watch online video.

-- Stream - Customers can stream content wirelessly to their player from the Internet or from their networked home computer at amazing speeds and clarity. Digital content stored on the computer also can be streamed out to the TV using the ARCHOS DVR Station Generation 5.

-- Download - Absolutely the easiest way to acquire video and music through ARCHOS devices wirelessly -- without using a PC. The new ARCHOS Content Portal links directly with CinemaNow, providing nearly one-touch access to favorite entertainment content, all for wireless download to the player. Consumers can purchase thousands of videos, including recently released movies, episodes of their favorite TV shows, independent films, music videos and more.

-- Record - Using the optional ARCHOS DVR Station Generation 5, the ARCHOS 605 WiFi is a mobile Digital Video Recorder (DVR) with a fully integrated Electronic Program Guide. With one-touch recording or scheduling of favorite TV shows, the ARCHOS 605 WiFi is the source for missed TV programs and catching up on favorite shows on the go.

Customizable Capacities with Expandable Storage

Offered in three different models in varying hard drive capacities, the ARCHOS 605 WiFi features a 4GB with expandable Secure Digital (SD) storage, 30GB or 160GB -- enough storage space to hold up to 200 movies on the player.

The ARCHOS 605 WiFi 4GB features an SD card slot for expanding the capacity of the player from 4GB* up to 20GB* -- enough to hold more than 25 movies(2), 10,000 songs(1) or 200,000 photos(1). The SD slot is the most flexible in terms of media support, accommodating SDHC (SD High Capacity), mini-SD, and micro-SD cards (with adapter), and allows consumers to swap SD cards between digital cameras, mobile phones and the ARCHOS 605 WiFi for easily sharing and enjoying video, music and photos.
