New Book and Companion Workbook 'Wild Money' Offers Women a Creative Guide to Finances

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - Jun 20, 2013) - Artist, psychotherapist and financial advisor Luna Jaffe combines all of her talents in two colorful new books for women -- "Wild Money: A Creative Journey to Financial Wisdom" and its companion workbook, "Wild Money: A Financial Field Guide and Journal," (www.lunajaffe.com).

"I want to help women understand their relationship to money and improve it in a fun, compassionate and non-judgmental way. I want them to befriend money -- to develop a healthy, sustainable relationship with it," says Jaffe, founder and CEO of Lunaria Financial, Ltd., an advisory firm specializing in holistic money management and financial planning.

"In my work as an advisor and in teaching financial classes for women, I've found so many women feel inadequate when it comes to money. They cede control of their money to men, or it becomes a constant source of anxiety -- even shame."

Jaffe pulled from her previous work and training as a professional artist and therapist to develop a distinctly new approach to understanding money.

"Engaging creativity helps us access different parts of our brain, and when we view money as a relationship, we see the ways our family, culture and feelings about ourselves influence our money decisions," she says.

In "Wild Money: A Creative Journey," Jaffe explores various transactions with money and our emotional responses to them while also sharing practical tips, including basic concepts and financial vocabulary. Meanwhile, readers can get to work in the companion "Financial Field Guide," understanding their own relationship to money and developing a personalized plan for getting out of debt, saving and investing.

For those who stumble along the way, Jaffe provides Ask Zelda, an email where readers can get assistance, resources and encouragement.

"What a blast of wily wild refreshing amazement this book is!" writes Jennifer Louden, author of "The Woman's Comfort Book." "I dreaded cracking the cover. Money -- yuck. But all you have to do is read one page -- I kid you not, one page! -- and you will be hooked."
