New Book by Norman Doidge Explores Therapies That Change and Heal the Brain

"The Brain's Way of Healing" Includes iLs' Sound & Movement Program

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Feb 17, 2015) - Norman Doidge, MD, Canadian born author and psychiatrist, has released a new book on the brain's ability to change and heal (neuroplasticity). Dr. Doidge's new work, "The Brain's Way of Healing," explores a handful of cutting-edge therapies that are evidence-based, non-invasive and use different forms of energy to heal the body and mind. Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), a provider of brain fitness programs, is one of the therapies covered in the book. The iLs program integrates sound and movement to help those with learning difficulties, autism and head injuries.

iLs was tapped for information regarding sound therapy as well as access to therapists interviewed by Dr. Doidge. The iLs cases written up by Dr. Doidge as examples of successful neuroplastic therapy include a child with autism, a young boy with ADHD and a girl suffering from sensory processing disorder (SPD). iLs Clinical Director Ron Minson, MD also served as a resource for Dr. Doidge with regard to sound therapy and how it affects the brain.

"We were more than happy to contribute in several ways to Dr. Doidge's latest book on neuroplasticity. He is very talented at taking complicated material and weaving it into a story that both professional and lay readers can enjoy. It's a remarkable book, and one that helps further mainstream understanding of this very important topic," said Randall Redfield, CEO at iLs.
