New Book, 'The Second Decision,' Guides Entrepreneurs on Next Move

RALEIGH, NC--(Marketwired - Feb 10, 2015) - Randy H. Nelson, who has built multi-million-dollar companies and coached and mentored other entrepreneurs, has announced the publication of his new book "The Second Decision -- The Qualified Entrepreneur™" (http://randyhnelson.com/book/).

Nelson says entrepreneurs make their "first decision" by opting to start a business.

But the skills it takes to launch a business aren't necessarily the same skills it takes to successfully run one, he says, which is one reason many businesses fail.

And that's what "The Second Decision" explores, as Nelson draws on his experience as a naval officer to offer advice on how an entrepreneur can develop into a "qualified" entrepreneur who is the right person to take the company's helm.

"I challenge the entrepreneur to become qualified, and also challenge them to look at themselves in the mirror and decide if in fact they are the right person to lead their organization into the future," Nelson says.

It's possible, he says, that the person who started the business might better serve the organization as a role player and let someone else assume the role of CEO. Or it might be time for the entrepreneur to leave the business in someone else's good hands and move on and create other businesses.

Throughout his book, Nelson takes the entrepreneur on a self-awareness journey, outlining what factors to consider and how to ultimately make that decision.

"The book challenges you to look inside of yourself by answering tough questions throughout," writes Rich Russakoff, author of "Make Banks Compete to Lend You Money."
