New Brunswick Provincial Exhibition Receives Federal Funding

Government of Canada supports the 188th edition of the province's agricultural and cultural exhibition


FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwired - July 28, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing funding of $36,100 to Fredericton Exhibition Ltd. for the 188th edition of the New Brunswick Provincial Exhibition (NBEX).

The Honourable Keith Ashfield, Member of Parliament (Fredericton), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

The funding, provided under the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, will support the NBEX from September 6 to 12, 2015. Activities include musical performances featuring local artists, theatre presentations, woodworking demonstrations and traditional First Nations dance performances.

  • Fredericton Exhibition is a local non-profit organization that delivers educational programs relating to agriculture, promotes and presents local arts, and provides a space for various groups to present their activities to the community.
  • The New Brunswick Provincial Exhibition has taken place in Fredericton since 1827. It is the longest running and largest exhibition in Atlantic Canada.
