New Cartesis Benchmark Demonstrates Superior Performance

Peak Performance of 1,500 Concurrent Users and 12 Simultaneous Consolidations Deliver Framework for Customer Success

NORWALK, CT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 20, 2007 -- Cartesis, the world's leading specialist in finance and performance management software, today announced results of its latest benchmarking program that reveals breakthrough levels of performance. Performed with Cartesis Finance, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Compuware QACenter Performance and HP Integrity servers, the testing demonstrated peak performance including more than 1,500 concurrent active users, the first time such levels have been achieved while maintaining real-life system usage.

Companies that close their books fast will benefit by having faster access to information, better-informed decision making, more efficient processes, reduced man-hours, cost savings and a healthier image in the market. Yet the poor performance of some consolidation applications has been a significant barrier for companies seeking to improve close times.

"We are keenly aware of the pressure companies are under to achieve a fast close and create sustainable compliance processes," said Crispin Read, CMO Cartesis. "The benchmark results show how a powerful performance management framework can support a large number of users with the speed and accuracy financial executives demand. At the end of the day this level of performance translates hours into minutes and has a tangible impact on close times -- making them up to five times faster."

The benchmark results demonstrate the importance of scrutinizing IT infrastructure, processes and technologies and removing the barriers to a fast close. Embracing applications and strategies that speed up the close process becomes particularly necessary as large deployments of financial applications expand from hundreds to thousands of users.

"The more widely distributed financial applications become, the more important IT infrastructure becomes," said Michelle Weiss, vice president of marketing, Business Critical Systems, HP. "We have designed the HP Integrity server family with the simplified management, secured availability and flexible capacity that customers need to support such mission-critical applications."

The testing was conducted by Cartesis in a Microsoft Technology Center with Compuware QACenter Performance Edition on Microsoft SQL server 2005 and HP Integrity servers. The testing programs simulated real-life usage scenarios and user profiles with the equivalent of 6-months of actual reporting cycles involving more than 14,000 data submissions and160,000 input schedules.

Highlights of the benchmark results include:

-- 1,500 active concurrent users while performing consolidation
-- Running 12 simultaneous consolidations with up to 500 active
    concurrent users in one application
-- Average response times under three seconds
-- Ability to scale the applications with new users and maintain
"The results of this benchmark show the innovations within our partner community and demonstrate the competitive solutions that Cartesis provides for its customers," said Kim Saunders, director of SQL Server Marketing at Microsoft Corp. "The speed and precision offered by the combination of Cartesis Finance and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 gives financial executives the power and confidence they need in their performance management system."

"In our experience, the levels of peak performance achieved during these tests are extraordinary and exceed normal levels," said Cedric Treguier, Quality and Performance Program Marketing Manager at Compuware. "We are delighted to have contributed to this program."

Cartesis will showcase highlights of the benchmark results and demonstrate the importance of high performance applications during a Webcast co-hosted by Microsoft and HP on March 22. The event will feature real world fast-close success stories from leading global companies like Roche, Nissan, Barry Callebaut, Recticel, Sartorius and Société Générale, where close times have been reduced by as much as 75%.
