These new cost-effective switches enable businesses to future-proof their networks with field-proven IPv6 capabilities, high availability for mission critical applications, enhanced security, and simplified management.

D-Link Delivers on Flexibility and Affordability
D-Link® unified networking solutions offer small and medium-sized businesses scalability, reliability, performance, and lower initial and ongoing costs. Through D-Link's superior economic model, businesses can take advantage of these affordable networking solutions in multi-vendor IT infrastructures without being locked into proprietary hardware, software or service requirements.

"According to Gartner, D-Link is the number one provider of Ethernet ports shipped to small enterprise and number two provider of Ethernet ports shipped to enterprise worldwide(1)," said Ken Loyd, director of product marketing, D-Link Systems, Inc. "Based on this data, D-Link is a proven provider of affordable networks that deliver high-performance and availability, full IPv6 compatibility and seamless integration with other network components, and we will continue to offer networking solutions like the new DGS-6604, DGS-3620 series and DGS-3120 series with the features and capabilities that our customers need."

D-Link Comprehensive IPv6 Support
The DGS-6604, DGS-3620 and DGS-3120 series switches go beyond IPv6 certification. D-Link's field-proven interoperability with IPv6 expertise future-proofs your network for the next phase of the Internet, and provides new capabilities that can simplify network operations. Beyond passing the IPv6 Ready Logo Phase II test criteria -- which expands the "core IPv6 protocols" test coverage to approximately 450 tests including new test categories, and verification of optimum compliance -- D-Link already has multiple customers running production IPv6 networks. D-Link IPv6 support includes IPv6 Tunnel, ICMPv6, IPv6 Neighbor Discovery, DHCPv6, RIPng, and OSPFv3.

DGS-6604 Chassis Switch, DGS-3620 and DGS-3120 xStack®Switch Features
The DGS-6604 is a cost-effective chassis-based solution, ideal for environments that require high availability of network applications. Its flexible modular architecture enables simple, cost-effective future expansion based on a high-speed switch fabric with capacity of up to 576 Gbps and system performance of up to 428 Mpps.

Other important DGS-6604 features include:

  • Superior Performance: Bottleneck free distributed packet switching/routing; intelligent line cards with on-board Level 2 (L2)/Level 3 (L3)/Level 4 (L4) switching controllers
  • Flexible Modular Design: Four-slot chassis; scalable expansion to 144 10/100/1000BASE-T, 144 PoE, 144 small form-factor pluggable (SFP), or 24 10GE ports
  • High Resiliency: Up to four redundant load-sharing power modules; hot swappable line cards; replaceable fan module; 802.1D/w/s spanning tree; 802.3ad link aggregation; virtual router redundancy protocol (VRRP) support
  • Quality of Service (QoS): 802.1p priority queues/multi-layer class of service (CoS) including flow-based bandwidth control and broadcast/multicast storm control to ensure priority to network services such as VoIP, video conferencing, IPTV, and IP surveillance
  • Security: L2/L3/L4 Multi-Layer Access Control List (ACL); external RADIUS authentication support; SSH support

The DGS-3620 xStack series offers an alternative to the chassis form factor with switches that deliver next generation Layer 3 features. Up to four dual-purpose uplink/stacking 10GE SFP+ ports allow flexible creation of the appropriate networking architecture for a variety of core applications. The four 10GE ports can be aggregated to allow a maximum 40Gpbs backbone bandwidth. In addition, the DGS-3620 series supports physical and virtual stacking with other D-Link switches, providing the simplicity of Single IP management. These switches also provide IPv6 support, QoS and Multi-Layer ACL filtering, packet routing and protocol filtering/inspection.

Other important DGS-3620 series features include:

  • Flexibility Configuration: Offers 24 or 48 10/100/1000Mbps; four 10GB SFP+ uplinks; SI or EI software options; 802.3af and 802.3at PoE support
  • High Bandwidth Physical/Virtual Stacking: Four dedicated stacking ports per switch; up to 40 Gbps full-duplex stacking bandwidth; up to 12 units (576Gbps) per stack; virtual stacking of up to 32 units
  • Increased Reliability: Redundant Power Supply (RPS) support; 802.1D/w/s spanning tree, Loopback Detection (LBD)
  • Advanced Security: Multi-Layer ACL; IP-MAC-Port Binding (IMPB); D-Link Safeguard Engine; DHCP server screening; BPDU Attack Protection, ARP spoofing prevention
