New Culinary Website Reaches One Million Visitors in One Month; Chefs.com Attracting Thousands of New Viewers Each Day

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(CCNMatthews - Nov 9, 2005) -

JDV Online today announced that Chefs.com, which launched on October 1st, has recorded more than one million visitors in its first month of operation, averaging more than 35,000 people per day. The majority of visitors were culinary enthusiasts from the United States, although the site received significant traffic from 50 foreign countries as well.

"This is the first in a series of steps of creating an Internet presence aimed at the growing number of consumers who are enthusiasts in a variety of disciplines," said John Larson, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Career Education Corporation, the parent of JDV Online. "We are extremely pleased with this first of many milestones."

Chefs.com is an exciting new consumer-focused culinary website providing a wealth of interactive features and multimedia content, including cultural cooking lessons from world-renown chef Martin Yan, a courseware library, and a diverse recipe collection. "Clearly the most popular section of our site has been our recipe collection," said Paul Gleason, Chief Operating Officer of JDV Online. "Our visitors and members have found a rich resource for recipes and menus, allowing them to save and modify the meal plans that appeal most to them."

Analysis of the first month of traffic at Chefs.com indicates that visitors viewed more than eight million pages of content. Advertisers have also received a high volume of click-throughs from the Chefs.com site. "The site's unique online delivery technologies, world-class content, and early success at attracting millions of culinary enthusiasts from around the world will fuel our future success," explained Amy Peterson, Vice President of Operations. Chefs.com anticipates continued growth through the upcoming holiday season, traditionally the highest traffic volume for food and beverage web sites.

JDV Online expects to make additional announcements in the near future about their move into other areas of the Web, including purely digital marketplaces.
