New Dance Show is Full of Eastern Promise

The Arabian Dance Theatre Announces the Launch of Its Much-Awaited New Show 'Unity in Diversity' in London and Bristol This October

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 27, 2010) - The show is a celebration of Arabic dance and music from the nations of Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Yemen, Saudi, Tunisia, Emirates, Morocco, Algeria, Palestine and Lebanon, which aims to highlight the cultural variety across these societies. It is to be the largest pure Arabic dance show ever staged in the UK. The show incorporates a wide variety of dance styles, emphasising the colourful costumes, energetic routines and uplifting music associated with Arabic culture.

Tara Lee Oakley, the Producer of the performance said: "The show also touches on a deeper concept as it explores the idea of Unity and Diversity being a principle for peace and understanding in the world."

Conceptualised three years ago by Tara Lee Oakley and Egyptian-born Shafeek Ibrahim, Arabian Dance Theatre is unique to the UK and presents a variety of traditional dances in a modern and exciting way. The two recognised their shared passion for Arabian dance and wanted to communicate their art with others and inspire them to learn more about Arabic culture. Shafeek, an adept choreographer, performer and teacher, has also created the Shafeek Stage School, the UK's first professional Arabic dance performance course.

The two have remained focused clearly on their shared goal of establishing Arabian Dance Theatre as the strongest and most varied Arabic Dance company in the UK. Now in their third year of successful productions, Arabian Dance Theatre has a team of more than 16 highly-trained male and female dancers.
