New Electrical Training Course Teaches Solutions to Costly Power Quality Problems

Professional Trainco Instructors Teach How to Use Fluke 435 Power Quality Analyzer in Los Angeles, White Plains and Philadelphia

EVERETT, WA--(Marketwire - April 25, 2008) - Fluke Corporation has collaborated with American Trainco to offer an electrical training opportunity important for anyone responsible for installing, maintaining or troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities.

The course, "Using the Fluke 435 Power Quality Analyzer for Solving Power Quality Problems," will train electrical professionals what power quality means, why it is critical for successful facility operation, and how to use the Fluke 435 to identify power quality problems.

Power quality is often invisible and overlooked, but estimates put power quality-related losses at more than $80 billion per year in the United States. Power quality-related downtime can cost more than $5 million per hour in industrial facilities and credit card data centers. This power quality training course provides the knowledge to manage power quality using the Fluke 435 3-Phase Power Quality Analyzer.

This electrical training program is designed for anyone responsible for electrical system installation, maintenance and troubleshooting in commercial and industrial facilities. Professionals who will benefit from this seminar include plant electricians, facility maintenance personnel, building engineers, plant and facility managers, HVAC technicians and energy management personnel and electrical contractors.

The first day of this electrical training seminar will concentrate on teaching the student what power quality is, how it can be monitored, and the effect it can have on equipment and maintenance operations. Students will gain a clear understanding of why it is important to monitor power quality and how proper power quality management can save a plant or facility tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In the second day, students will apply what they have learned in a hands-on session using the Fluke 435 Logging Power Quality Analyzer. They will learn how to set the analyzer up, what different modes are available, how to read the various charts, graphs and reports, and how to use this information to improve performance of systems and equipment. Students will receive a solid power quality education and an introduction to real-world tools that will help them apply their knowledge the moment they get back to work.

The power quality training course will be presented in Los Angeles on June 9-10, in White Plains, N.Y. on June 23-24 and in Philadelphia on June 25-26, 2008.

Tuition for the two-day power quality training course (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day) is $985. To register for "Using the Fluke 435 Power Quality Analyzer for Solving Power Quality Problems," call 1-877-97-TRAIN or visit www.AmericanTrainco.com.
