New Executive Board for Infineon Technologies North America

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 15, 2006 -- Infineon Technologies AG (NYSE: IFX) (Frankfurt: IFX) today announced that a new Executive Board will manage Infineon Technologies North America (IFNA). The Executive Board is comprised of three senior executives who will serve as Managing Directors of IFNA and have responsibility for different business group and operational functions: Christopher Cook, with responsibility for the company's Automotive, Industrial and Multimarket (AIM) Business Group; Jean-Baptiste (JB) Loire, with responsibility for the company's Communication Solutions Business Group; and Klaus Gohlke, with responsibility for all central corporate functions.

The new Executive Board structure closely mirrors the management organization of Infineon Technologies AG and the global operations of its Business Groups. This organizational change follows the resignation of Robert LeFort as president of Infineon Technologies North America. LeFort will leave Infineon on March 30 to lead a technology start-up.

Short biographies of the IFNA Executive Board members follow.

Christopher Cook, Managing Director, IFNA -- Joined Infineon North America in 2003 as vice president of the company's AIM Business Group. Previously, Cook held positions at Renesas Technology, Hitachi Semiconductor America and National Semiconductor. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.

Jean-Baptiste (JB) Loire, Managing Director, IFNA -- Joined Siemens Microelectronics/ Infineon in 1998 and moved to Infineon North America in 2004 as vice president of sales for the region. Previously, he held sales and management positions with Alcatel and Texas Instruments. Loire holds an economics degree from Paris University.

Dr. Klaus Gohlke, Managing Director, IFNA -- Joined Siemens Microelectronics/ Infineon in 1997, and was named as CFO of Infineon Technologies North America earlier this year. Dr. Gohlke previously was the CFO of the principal Asia Pacific subsidiary of Infineon Technologies. His Doctoral Degree in Economics and Social Sciences was awarded by Friedrich-Alexander-University in Nuremberg, Germany.
