The new Family Care Solutions Magazine for Caregivers: Better Care for Your Loved Ones and Yourself

A Unique Magazine and Web Site That Offer Articles and Directory Advertising

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 17, 2006) - Transcontinental Media and Yellow Pages Group announce the launching of Family Care Solutions, a new specialized magazine geared to the growing family-care market. The aim of this publication, and its associated web site, is to provide caregivers with practical advice and a list of resources, conveniently brought together in one magazine, to facilitate the day-to-day experience of caregivers.

"Family Care Solutions meets a real need when you consider that one in five 40-year-old adults is a caregiver in Canada," pointed out Ezana Raswork, Vice-President, Business Development, Yellow Pages Group. "Many challenges await these individuals, who must find help and obtain information. This magazine serves as a guide to help them in their efforts," he continued.

Divided into two complementary parts, the magazine offers an editorial section that contains a host of articles on relevant topics such as moving or making changes to the layout of a home, nutrition, medication, care, etc., as well as a Yellow Pages™ directory advertising section that lists hundreds of businesses offering family-care-related products and services. In addition, the magazine presents a list of telephone numbers and web sites including those of hospitals, local community service centres, various associations, professional corporations and self-help groups.

"The publication, offered in the Greater Toronto and the Greater Montreal areas, takes the form of a special edition of the Canadian Living, Good Times and Bel Age magazines since the subject matter is of particular concern to these readers and their loved ones," added Francine Tremblay, Senior Vice President, Consumer Publications of Transcontinental Media. "Each of us will one day be called upon to care for a close relative or friend who can't manage on their own, and Family Care Solutions will help us to prepare for this eventuality."

Some 460,000 copies of Family Care Solutions (Savoir Aider) will be distributed to pre-selected households in the Greater Toronto and Montreal areas as well as to the subscribers of Canadian Living, Good Times and Bel Age magazines from those markets.

Online advice!

In addition to the magazine, a new web site, www.familycaresolutions.ca, offers information on family-care related topics. By visiting the site, caregivers will find relevant articles and the contact information of the businesses mentioned in the magazine, have access to a specialist, and have the opportunity to take part in a forum where they will be able to discuss and share their experience with other persons who find themselves in a similar situation.

An ongoing partnership

Family Care Solutions is the second specialized publication launched in partnership between Transcontinental Media and Yellow Pages Group. This partnership gave way to the creation of original and innovative publications which have both editorial and directory advertising sections, showcasing Transcontinental Media's editorial expertise and Yellow Pages Group's advertising know-how. The first magazine, Home Improvement, was released in April 2006 in the Greater Toronto and Greater Montreal markets.
