New Features, New Products Highlight Sangoma's Sponsorship at Elastix World '11

GSM Board and Auto-Provisioning Within Elastix Announced in Mexico City

TORONTO, ONTARIO and MEXICO CITY, MEXICO--(Marketwire - Nov. 3, 2011) - ELASTIX WORLD 2011 - Sangoma Technologies Corporation (TSX VENTURE:STC), a leading provider of hardware and software components that enable or enhance IP communications systems for both voice and data, today announced that with the release of Elastix 2.2, all Sangoma TDM interface boards (analog, digital and BRI) are now automatically detected and configured through Elastix's hardware detector interface tool. The web interface also allows the configuration of different parameters, such as echo cancellation, the mode on PRI cards (E1 or T1), timing source, line build out, framing, and coding. Elastix is one of the leading distributions of Asterisk® and was designed to enable unified communications and VoIP systems within an Open Source solution.

"It is very important for Elastix to have developed a simple and intuitive detection of Sangoma hardware," said Edgar Landivar, CEO of PaloSanto Solutions, the company that developed Elastix. "This was something that the community had been demanding for a while and makes Elastix and Sangoma a solid combination."

In addition, Sangoma also announced the beta release of the W400 Board, their first GSM capable telephony interface board. The board allows IP-PBXs built with Asterisk to communicate with the GSM cellular network. The board will enable an IP-PBX to place calls even when no PTSN or internet connection is available. This feature can be used to complete calls to and from the IP-PBX to mobile phones for little or no cost. The W400 also allows an IP-PBX to gain access to certain GSM data functions, such as sending or receiving an SMS message that can enhance the overall functionality of the IP-PBX.

The board supports up to four simultaneous quad-band EGSM sessions enabling maximum compatibility worldwide. It includes onboard hardware echo cancellation, noise suppression and DTMF detection. The W400 comes in a PCIe configuration and carries a 5-year warranty. Developers interested in the W400 beta testing program should contact Julien Nephtali at jnephtali@sangoma.com.

Doug Vilim, VP of sales for Sangoma, Jeff Dworkin, director of marketing for Sangoma, and Senior Software Engineer Moises Silva will all be on hand at Elastix World, Mexico City from November 3-4 at Stand #10. Mr. Silva is also a featured speaker at the show and will be presenting Codec Negotiation on Asterisk at 12PM on Friday, November 4.
