New Gatwick Airport Car Park on Offer to Hotel Guests, Report Millennium Hotels

Additional space for over 1,000 vehicles at Gatwick airport eases stress on drivers heading to the airport

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - Travellers driving to hotels near Gatwick airport can now make use of a new car park at the base before catching their flight.

The £17 million short-stay parking area is spread across six storeys near the check-in area in Gatwick's north terminal and has been constructed in anticipation of increased demand during the 2012 London Olympics and beyond.

With the capacity to hold up to 1,177 vehicles, the car park brings the total number of parking spaces available at the airport to a total of 32,600.

Gatwick's operating company announced that the development will help the gateway achieve its growth targets, which include handling 40 million passengers per year by the end of the decade and becoming "London's airport of choice".

Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, who operate a network of UK hotels, including two near Gatwick airport; the Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick and the Copthorne Hotel Effingham Gatwick, said "This car park offers passengers a new level of convenience at Gatwick airport and, combined with a night's stay at one of our Gatwick hotels, is proof that it's possible to have a stress free start to your holiday."

Guests staying at either Gatwick hotel can also currently receive up to 35% off a delicious Millennium & Copthorne Hotels breakfast to set you off on the right foot for travelling.
