New Generation Website Developed by Empirical

Country Music Television (CMT) Integrates On-Line & Television Programming

On February 13th, 2008 CMT re-launched their website (CMT.ca) to their 9 million Canadian fans.

The new website is fully integrated with their TV channels and allows viewers to drive content.

The centrepiece of CMT.ca is a social network application called MYCMT. It allows anybody to register as country music artist (or just a fan) and provides the tools to build your own country music career or interact with the country music artists.

Once registered (it's free to the MYCMT community), the aspiring artist can organically build his or her own fan base. Or, simply be discovered by others. They can upload their own music and share directly with fans. Quite the shift from the rigor of talent show auditions or sending demo discs to recording companies.

The website also allows country music fans to create their own personal profile and share experiences with other MYCMT members using posts, messages, photos and videos.

The new website has already attracted 9,000 plus new members (artists and fans) and is getting in excess of 3 million hits per month.
