A leading culinary artist will take the helm of one of Canada's busiest kitchens. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre welcomes Chef Duff Lampard as the facility's new executive chef bringing his expertise and focus to elevate the food and beverage experience for clients and attendees.

"This is a great opportunity to take everything to the next level," says Chef Duff. "I'm looking forward to presenting the fresh style of contemporary cuisine we are developing."

Chef Duff's 20-year experience has seen him meet the needs of both small and large audiences, and create extraordinary dishes alongside master chefs across Canada and Europe. He launched an exciting culinary adventure as chef de partie at Alberta's famed Chateau Lake Louise and Jasper Park Lodge. A desire to take on the international culinary scene saw Chef Duff journey overseas to London, England, where he worked as executive sous chef, and brought to life exciting menus for renowned clients such as Chanel Paris, The National Gallery and Sir Richard Branson.

Upon his return to Canada, Chef Duff took the lead at Toronto's Westin Harbour Castle as executive chef, and, in 2012, his award-winning talent was celebrated with the coveted title of BizBash Caterer of the Year. It was in this role that he executed customized banquets for key events, such as the G20 and 2012 Genie Awards.

Committed to fostering the education of young hospitality professionals, Chef Duff has also worked as a professor in the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism at Toronto's George Brown College, where he received the Board of Governor's Awards of Excellence for Team Achievement, and was nominated for Outstanding Contribution to College and Teaching Excellence.

As Chef Duff embarks on a new adventure at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, he says the facility's kitchen is the key for experimenting with new dishes to develop a more robust menu.

"When I look at the opportunity in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre's new modernized kitchen, it's incredible," Chef Duff explains. "We have the opportunity to leverage the technology in this kitchen to really customize menus on a large scale and ensure guests have a wonderful experience."

As the MTCC continues to lead the way in sourcing local food and wines, Chef Duff will be instrumental in showcasing the diversity of Ontario products.

"We are looking forward to a very exciting culinary future under Chef Duff's leadership," says Richard Willett, vice president of Food and Beverage. "The creativity and expertise of our new executive chef will go a long way in menu customization, and in meeting the needs of our local and international clients."

"I really enjoy meeting with clients and putting together a menu that works for them," says Chef Duff. "We're in a great place to really advance the culinary program and bring some excitement to the convention scene."
