New Intersport Flagship Retail Store Shines With Energy-Efficient Molto Luce LED Lighting

Bridgelux LED Arrays Enable Innovation in Retail Lighting Design

WELS, AUSTRIA--(Marketwire - March 1, 2011) - Intersport, the world's most dynamic, famous and profitable sports retail brand, has installed energy-efficient LED lighting from manufacturer, Molto Luce, GmbH, at its new flagship store in Klagenfurt, Austria. This new store, Intersport's 275th location in Austria, introduces an innovative shop design concept incorporating the latest trends in retail lighting design made possible by recent advances in LED lighting technology.

Intersport installed Molto Luce's "FIFTY LED" spotlights to make every aisle and product display shine. Delivery of this high performance and high quality light was enabled by the industry leading high flux density RS LED Arrays from Bridgelux. Molto Luce incorporated the Bridgelux light sources into their luminaires enabling excellent CRI, color consistency and a 30% increase in energy efficiency compared to traditional retail lighting solutions. Through installing the Molto Luce LED lights, Intersport expects to save on their monthly energy costs compared to stores using traditional lighting.

Molto Luce's LED lighting systems provide further benefits by generating much lower heat output thereby reducing air conditioning costs and eliminating the ultraviolet radiation (UV) found in conventional lighting technologies which can cause damage to display merchandise. According to Thomas Schramek, architect for Intersport Austria, Intersport's new store with this innovative lighting design is contributing to a cooler, more pleasant shopping environment and improved merchandise turnover.
