Imagine if your child opened a book and was suddenly whisked on a roller coaster of an adventure that was all around them and popped up in unexpected places.

Introducing Imaginary Friends, a cool and inventive collection of interactive books for eight to 12 year olds that take children on exciting missions while their parents play along behind the scenes.

Each book is a family adventure and arrives at your home with printed chapters and an activity kit that includes puzzles, secret notes and other ideas to bring the story to life. It's easy to use and starts when parents log on and trigger interactive and real-life activities that coincide with the narrative and make your children a key part of the action.

"I've always been making up stories with my kids," says Evan Jones, creator of Imaginary Friends and founder of Stitch Media. "And I wanted to build an adventure kit we could work through together."

Contribute on Kickstarter and Become an Imaginary Friends Advisor

Jones and his team of writers, illustrators and designers have created the first two books in the series and are currently testing them with a group of early adopters. And now they're launching a Kickstarter Campaign to grow the concept and enlist a committed group of parent advisors to provide input, ideas, and help shape how the series evolves.

Contributions start at $5 to join the editorial team with 11 options in all. This includes: $35 for an Adventure Kit bundle of your choice; $115 to help choose the next set of stories and get a one-year subscription of four books; $750 to have your child written into the story as a primary character and a year of adventures. And if you contribute $8,000, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the production team as editor for one of the books.

"We make reading spill off the page and into amazing adventures that feature all the things kids love to do everyday," says Jones. "And now we need people's help to become our advisors and take us to the next level."
