More Than Half of Adults Say Buying Condoms Is Embarrassing

IRVINGTON, NY and ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - December 15, 2010) - The majority of adults (70%) in a recent Durex®/Harris Interactive survey say there are barriers to purchasing condoms and most (59%) say the embarrassment and/or the stereotype associated with purchasing condoms can be a barrier to buying them. In addition, women are more likely than men, 56% vs. 49%, to say that they don't buy condoms because they are embarrassed.
